Till sist: den viktigaste bilden

Kerstin Ring och sonen Dick tillsammans med mormor Lydia Lindman, 1936. Tre generationer samlade. Antagligen det sista fotot som finns på Lydia, som bodde i Karlshamn sina sista år. Min gissning är att fotot också är taget där.
Så mycket av vår släkthistoria som sammanfattas i denna bild. Lydia som var allas vår förmoder och som vi vet så mycket om tack vare Gösta Wennbergs opus. Dick, denna vänliga själ som vi lärt känna personligen och som betytt så mycket för vår släktgemenskap. Kerstin som idag har så många ättlingar i såväl Sverige som Kanada. År 2010, då släktbloggen fortfarande var på engelska, skrev jag följande apropå denna bild:
"Family history is a wonderful thing because it will never change. When it changes, it changes forwards. It will never leave you. It won't die as long as it's remembered. It has stories that you can tell. It contains persons, endeavors, problems that really mattered but do not matter anymore because they are history. It is there for you. It is true, or at least it has true components. It is recreated, but has an origin in true, grey, real reality."
Dessutom, kanske man ska tillägga, handlar det om människor som man har en personlig koppling till (och i vissa fall rentav träffat och umgåtts med) vilket gör det ännu mer intressant och berörande.
